Barcarena's Fábrica da Pólvora restaurant is also known for its lunch buffet. On weekdays you can enjoy a varied buffet for a low price (~€9.00), with access to several dishes that vary with the day, cold starters table, with cheeses and cold meats, savory snacks and all kinds of starters, dessert table very complete, drinks being paid separately. The wine list is diverse and has good value options. The bar service is good, I advise you to try the wild berry sangria.

This former factory annex has been completely transformed into a cozy and romantic space. It keeps the open space , but full of simple notes that make a difference in the decoration. But it's not just the environment that makes a restaurant. And Maria Pimenta has delicious dishes for the Portuguese palate.

To start your meal, try the fish soup (2€), the standard peppers (4€) or the farinheira wrapped in egg (4€). Then, venture into the fish with a baked cod (11€), fried cuttlefish (8€) or octopus à lagareiro (11€).

For meat fans there are black pork secrets (8€), pork tenderloin (9€) or loin of bull (10€). Maria Pimenta also has a free lunch buffet from Monday to Friday (7.90€) and at the weekend they serve lunch and dinner (11.90€). The buffet is well filled with Portuguese cuisine, it also includes a table of cheeses, sausages and snacks; simple and mixed salads, and desserts.

Service is quick and staff are very helpful and friendly. The Restaurant has a capacity for 180 people, and is the ideal space for holding events or group meals. The restaurant's terrace is located in the gardens/pedestrian area of Fábrica da Pólvora, where you can enjoy your meal while enjoying the tranquility and beauty of the place.

At the end of the meal, you can take the opportunity to visit the place, with special emphasis on the visit to the Museum of Black Gunpowder.
