It became customary to hear this phrase related to real estate mediation. It is said, written and repeated with such ease that even the professionals who abuse it end up believing and swearing together.
Some owners before such a credible testimony, first doubt, then hesitate and finally allow themselves to be hypnotized before the idyllic scenario that is painted to them:
- "Not only do I have interested customers, but the values of the proposals exceed what you are asking for in your home!"
- "I've already sold a lot of houses in your area and right now I have more interested customers than houses to sell"
- "You just have to sign this mediation contract, otherwise I won't be able to visit it with my clients."
The purpose is simple: meet fundraising goals at the expense of dishonest selling techniques . In the end it does not matter whether customers are disappointed or not, as there are always arguments of appeal: "after all, my client ended up buying another house ... the interested client had a setback with the Bank and, after all, no longer has secured financing .. I don’t know what happened but I’m sick of calling him and he doesn’t answer me… let's wait, there must have been some health problem. " Thus, the volume of referrals grows more easily and in the end, between those who enter deluded and those who leave disappointed, the consultant is satisfied with the balance.
In a real estate market that keeps growing, in terms of sales volume and the number of human resources that work there every day, imagination is scarce and this type of techniques is an easy temptation, especially for the most inexperienced real estate consultants.
Credulous landlords also have some guilt as they are easily put to use. Ambition or need blinds reason and in the end everyone loses:
- The Mediation Companies and their professionals, because they end up with a ballast of "untruths" that harm the most valuable asset that any service company must aspire to: its credibility.
- Owners because they "want to believe the lie" and easily fall for it. From there to the disappointment the distance is short, because after signing the Mediation Contract the initial interest of the consultant quickly wanes, the time of exposure of the property increases, the results do not appear and from there until the easy conclusion that they are all incompetent and liars goes a short distance.
It is worth recalling:
Parable of "Truth goes naked"
According to a 19th century parable, the Truth and the Lie meet one day and the Lie tells the Truth :
- Today is a wonderful day "!
Truth looks at the sky and sighs, because the day was really beautiful. They spend time walking together and arriving at a well, Lie tells the Truth :
- The water is very good, let's take a bath together!
The Truth , suspicious, tests the water and finds that it is actually very good. They undress and start taking a shower. Suddenly, the Lie comes out of the water, puts on the clothes of Truth and runs away. The furious Truth comes out of the well and runs everywhere looking for the Lie , trying to recover his clothes.
The world, seeing the naked Truth , looks away, with contempt and anger. The poor Truth returns to the well and disappears forever, hiding inside it, ashamed. Since then, Lie travels all over the world dressed as the Truth , satisfying the needs of society, because in reality the world does not wish to confront the naked Truth .
