Sobral de Monte Agraço is a village in the district of Lisbon, seat of the municipality with the same name: with an area of 52.10 km², 10,541 inhabitants (2021 Census). The municipality is limited to the north by the municipality of Torres Vedras, to the northeast by Alenquer, to the east and southeast by Arruda dos Vinhos and to the southwest and west by Mafra.
The municipality of Sobral de Monte Agraço is characterized by a considerable dispersion of its settlements, composed essentially of couples, places and villages, but whose urban fabric has been growing in recent years.
It is subdivided into 3 parishes: Santo Quintino (3,767 inhabitants), Sapataria (3,288 inhabitants) and Sobral de Monte Agraço (3,486 inhabitants).
The parish of Santo Quintino , with a markedly rural matrix, converges with the urban center of the town of Sobral and is located in the south/southeast of the municipality. Santo Quintino has a dispersed population, being the parish with the lowest population density in the county, however in recent years there has been a strengthening of some population centers.
The parish of Sapataria is located in the south/southwest of the municipality and, given the improvements in accessibility with easy access to the A8 , through the Pero Negro junction, it was the parish that registered the greatest dynamics of population growth.
