With a strategic position, Almada offers an excellent combination between proximity to the capital and the tranquility provided by its Atlantic coast. The municipality is made up of a variety of urban and natural areas, making it a place of great cultural and scenic diversity.

One of Almada's main points of interest is Cristo Rei , an iconic and imposing monument that offers spectacular panoramic views of Lisbon and the 25 de Abril Bridge. Opened in 1959, Cristo Rei is a historical and religious reference, attracting thousands of visitors per year. The viewpoint provides a unique view of the capital, being one of the most visited places in the region.

Almada is also famous for the beaches of Costa da Caparica , one of the most popular beach destinations in Portugal. Costa da Caparica stretches across 15 kilometers of golden sand beaches , making it a favorite destination for those looking for surf, sun and a relaxed atmosphere. Along the coast, we find a series of bars and restaurants offering fresh seafood and typical Portuguese dishes.

On a cultural level, Almada has a rich and diverse history that is reflected in its museums and artistic events. The Joaquim Benite Municipal Theater , in Almada, is one of the most important cultural centers in the country, hosting the Almada Theater Festival , an annual event that attracts national and international participants and spectators. Furthermore, the municipality is home to the Naval Museum , located in Cacilhas, where the region's maritime history is preserved.

Cacilhas, one of the most emblematic parishes in Almada, is known for its seafood restaurants and its historical connection with fishing and river transport. The Cacilhas Lighthouse and the Boca do Vento Panoramic Elevator are two tourist attractions that offer views over the Tagus River and Lisbon and a fantastic sunset. Furthermore, Cacilhas is the connection point between Almada and Lisbon, through a regular boat service that crosses the river, reinforcing the strong connection between both sides of the Tagus.

Finally, Almada is a municipality that has known how to preserve its nature, with important green spaces, such as Parque da Paz, a large green lung located in the city center , ideal for leisure moments and outdoor activities. The combination of historical, cultural and scenic heritage and a strong connection with the Tagus River makes Almada a place of great interest and with a quality of life that continues to attract both Portuguese and foreigners.

Economy

Almada's economy is characterized by strong diversity, with emphasis on the tertiary sector: commerce, tourism and services. The Almada real estate market has increased in value due to its proximity to Lisbon and the growing demand for quieter areas with good access to the capital. New construction, especially in the Costa da Caparica and Cacilhas areas, attracts both homebuyers and investors. The municipality offers a high quality of life, with access to services, commerce, efficient transport and a good road network, which has resulted in a gradual increase in prices.
